BYK-2616

BYK 2616 is a low-emission additive used for removing moisture in plastic systems and accelerating ambient curing of acrylate resins. As a specially prepared finely dispersed calcium oxide and stabilizing wetting agent, BYK 2616 is capable of removing even large quantities of moisture in a very short time from processed materials. This prevents defects like blistering, bubbles and cratering when manufacturing advanced composite materials. BYK 2616 presents advantages over standard calcium hydroxide suspensions like stable particle size distribution, no need for caustic dust handling or sedimentation issues. It provides uniform dispersion and simplified processing. As an accelerator in acrylate resin systems cured using TBPM, BYK 2616 minimizes fluctuations in curing behavior for advanced materials.
