BYK-8020

BYK-8020 is a silicone resin-based foam stabilizer that provides stabilization of foam structures in mechanically foamable materials. BYK-8020 allows for the formation of a fine, homogeneous and open-celled foam structure. This unique property of BYK-8020 results in materials with very good resistance to compression set. Compared to other stabilizers, BYK-8020 produces materials with a drier touch and reduced water uptake. As a post-add during processing, or direct injection during mechanical foaming, BYK-8020 at recommended loading levels of 1-4 phr stabilizes the foam without negatively impacting other material properties. BYK-8020 is well suited for applications requiring high performance, lightweight and durable foamed structures.
