METAFOLIN

METAFOLIN is a physiological form of folate available for use by the body without further metabolic conversion. It is a white-yellow-beige powder of crystalline calcium L-5- methyltetrahydrofolate (calcium-L-methylfolate). METAFOLIN has a standard shelf life of 36 months from the date of production when stored in the unopened original container at a temperature of 2 - 8°C. METAFOLIN meets or exceeds the specifications of the USP. METAFOLIN is widely accepted as a 1:1 replacement for folic acid for general food supplements and fortification, as such existing recommendations and upper levels for folic acid apply. METAFOLIN provides benefits in pharmaceutical applications as it is a stable form of folate that does not require conversion in the body to become biologically active like folic acid. This makes METAFOLIN a suitable nutrient fortification for various pharmaceutical products.
