SILRES BS 5140

SILRES® BS 5140 is an aqueous water-dilutable emulsion of an aminofunctional polydimethylsiloxane. It is used to impart water repellency to mineral insulation materials, especially binder-free mineral wool, so called Blowing Wool.Properties :Beside the hydrophobation of binder less mineral wool, so called Blowing Wool, SILRES®BS 5140 can also be used at lower temperatures or for post-treatment of mineral wool.Applications :• Insulation MaterialsAfter dilution with water, SILRES®BS 5140 should be applied to the freshly formed mineral fibres. The product can be diluted with any quantity of water. For the hydrophobation of mineral wool in terms of a post-treatment, the product shouldbe directly applied to the mineral wool, e.g. by spraying.
