BYK-S 740

BYK S 740 is a highly effective additive used in the advanced materials industry. BYK S 740 reduces monostyrene emission in unsaturated polyester resins by up to 90% making it ideal for use in advanced composite manufacturing applications. As a solution of hydroxypolyesters with paraffin wax, BYK S 740 is particularly recommended for orthophthalic resins and can also be used in isophthalic resins. Using BYK S 740 does not adversely affect interlaminar adhesion, an important property for advanced materials. BYK S 740 is added to the resin whilst stirring before adding other formulation components to provide benefits such as reduced emissions and maintained adhesion properties crucial for high performance advanced materials.
