TECOFLEX EG-80A

TECOFLEX EG 80A is a medical grade aliphatic polyether-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with a shore hardness of 72A. It offers an inherent ultraviolet (UV) stability that resists yellowing by aging and sterilization processes common in the Advanced Materials industry. TECOFLEX EG 80A provides good mechanical properties with a tensile strength of 5,800 psi and an ultimate elongation of 660% making it suitable for applications requiring flexibility and durability. Other properties like low mold shrinkage between 0.008-0.012 in/in and a specific gravity of 1.04 contribute to minimal warping and lighter weight parts. The combination of UV resistance, mechanical strength and ease of processing of TECOFLEX EG 80A through extrusion and injection molding techniques make it well suited for medical tubing, catheters and other devices used in the Advanced Materials sector. TECOFLEX grades are well-konwn for their luxurious haptic and patient comfort from the in-body softening effect.
